Six years in the hospitality industry taught Amy a great deal about anticipating and exceeding customer expectations. You have to be responsive. You have to be efficient. And you have to get it right. To Amy, staffing and hospitality have a lot in common. Excel ITR clients expect quick service-with uncompromising quality. "Our job is to strike a balance between the two," she explains. "People need to feel you're taking care of them. It's not just about conducting a transaction." The qualitative difference sets excel apart from other staffing firms. "We listen, we have real conversations with our clients." Part of any good conversation, of course, is listening: to clients about their needs, to candidates about their goals. Amy says she's never before worked in an environment where everyone was so attentive-or energized. That suits her just fine: Amy is accustomed to giving 110 percent, both on the job and in her spare time doing activities such as hot yoga, soccer and painting. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a B. Comm., major in marketing.
